About Jahorina

Jahorina – Paradise for lovers of nature and adrenaline

JAHORINA

History

What truly sets Jahorina apart from other resorts in the region is its rich skiing history. The Winter Olympic Games were held on Jahorina in 1984, marking the peak of its development. The very idea originated on Jahorina, thanks to its ski slopes, and upon winning the Olympic bid, other surrounding resorts—Bjelašnica, Trebević, and Igman—began to develop.

That year, Japan and Switzerland were also candidates for the Olympics, but Jahorina ultimately secured the bid.

History repeated itself in 2019 when Jahorina hosted the Youth Olympic Games, bringing young athletes from around the world to compete in slalom and giant slalom events.

SKI CENTER

Olympic Center Jahorina

As its name suggests, it stands out from other ski centers in the region due to the quality of its ski slopes and special mountain ambience. The Jahorina alpine ski slopes, which are 20 km long in total, can be enjoyed by beginners as well as top skiers. For fans of Nordic skiing, 10 km of Nordic trails have been prepared in Dvorište. We paid the most attention to the youngest skiers and prepared the Ogorjelica Amusement Park for them, where they can take their first skiing steps.
